Coniferous Woodland

The three species generally recognised as native to Britain are scots pine, juniper and yew. Yew trees are also referred to under the broadleaved, mixed and yew woodland UK BAP broad habitat.
In Kent, there are 3,813 hectares of coniferous woodland (KHS2003) - an area 21 times the size of Sherwood Forest.
